Who are M.A.A.S.So who are Martial Arts All Styles?Martial Arts All Styles is an organisation that includes individual martial art instructors of different styles, working together without all the political and internal frustration most associations are involved with today. MAAS volunteers work as a team in their spare time serving those who are running clubs or helping those wanting to start their own club. It's not our intention to poach members from other clubs or associations, we just want to help those clubs, by offering additional services. In fact we do work alongside other organisations. You do not have to leave your existing organisation, in order to join ours. Many of our members are involved with other associations. We recognise that there are club instructors who may have outgrown their associations for different reasons or they may be discontent with their present position. Either way, MAAS can help. We are all entitled to our freedom. With MAAS, you can do just that. There is no middleman or big boss. MAAS belongs to you. We make our mistakes together. We share the successes together.
How can MAAS help? It's simple. We can give you what other organisations give you and more. The rapid growth of our membership is proof of that. Many instructors who have joined us have found our guidelines very helpful. For example, insurance is a minefield and policies can be very confusing and misguiding. Many organisations insist on insurance policies that they want you to have, but that you may not need. MAAS can help you with the legal requirements as well as insurance for club premises, instructors and students. We do encourage you to constantly further yourself as a coach. We inform you of the legal requirements and leave you to make the choice. What is required to run a registered club? The instructor must be qualified. The venue must be insured as well as each of your students. Without these legal requirements you are at risk. We can help you with these requirements. We accept existing suitable qualifications. We run courses throughout the year in the essential basics - First Aid, Health & Safety, Child Protection, etc. to enable you to become fully qualified in all the necessary areas. We help with issues such as CRB Police checks. We provide Public Liability Cover Insurance as well as individual insurance for all of your students. As part of your MAAS membership, you will have access to the Instructors area of our website. You will receive a monthly Newsletter informing you of all forthcoming activities, seminars and gradings. Issues that relate to you as an Instructor, for example changes in the insurance guidelines relating to teaching children are featured in the Newsletter. The newsletter is downloadable from the website, as are price lists and the Coaches Pack. The Coaches Pack is a large document that contains everything that you will need to run your club efficiently and profitably
As well as the newsletter, by registering on the website as an Instructor, you will receive regular weekly updates by email. So if an event changes, or your insurance is about to expire, we are able to send you the relevant information quickly and efficiently. Competitive opportunitiesMAAS have regular events catering for novice through to world titles. Members within our organisation teach a wide range of martial arts styles and activities, including:
We organise frequent Seminars throughout the year to showcase the skills of our members, and to encourage a mixed martial arts environment, sharing knowledge and experiences with each other. We have a very large Kickboxing section, organised under the BKBU (British Kick Boxing Union) – one of the original kickboxing organisations. It's record for health and safety is second to none, and very similar to the ABA (Western Boxing). Records show that many champions received their breeding from the BKBU before they became professionals and we are still breeding fighters. Can MAAS grade? If you require upgrading, then we can help. We recognise the problems relating to assessments. When departing from other organisations or clubs former instructors may try and put barriers in the way. They want you to stay with them, locked in their system. That's what separates us from them. We encourage you to grade your own students. Who else knows your students better than you? You may have your own grading licences. If you require MAAS coloured diplomas or licences we can supply them. We serve you. We don't dictate. It sounds too good? It sounds too easy? Your probably thinking where's the catch? There is no catch. We know what is needed to coach. We know what the students need to be examined. We've got what you need and you've got what we want. You need a good service with no politics. We want you to enjoy what you need. We are all interested in Martial Arts and want the best for our students. At the same time, we want to make our job easier as instructors. So if you are unhappy with your position we can help you. If you are content with your present position but want another service, we can still serve you. Our only interest is obtaining and furthering knowledge. At the same time have some fun. What could be better? We can only achieve that by working together and for each other.
It's that simple.
